The tear came from a moment of gratitude — from realizing how precious it is simply to wake up, to be alive, and to share life with the people who are still here.

Alongside that gratitude came memories of loved ones who are no longer present. Joy and nostalgia met in the same moment: appreciation for what life continues to give, and tenderness for everything and everyone that has already become part of the past.
